Domain Transfer and Renewal

I have received a notification to transfer and renew my domain name to Whois' new registrar. As my domain name has not yet expired with Whois.com, why should I transfer and renew now?
We have moved to a new registrar to provide you with a seamless interface to more value added services: - web and email hosting, website builder, digital certificates and more payment options. We strongly encourage you to take this opportunity to transfer and renew* your domain name for another year at our offer rate of only US$8.88!

Transfer and renew conditions:
  1. You can transfer your domain name only after 60 days from the registration date of the domain name (with the current registrar).
  2. We will add one year to the current expiry date of your domain name at no additional cost. For example, if your domain expires on Dec 5, 2007 and you place a transfer request on Oct 3, 2007 then after the transfer is complete, the new expiry date of your domain name will be Dec 5 2008, i.e. you will not lose anytime even if you choose to transfer months before your domain expiry date.
I want to transfer my domain name to Whois' new registrar. Why doesn't it recognise my username and password at the login page?
"Do you have an existing account with us?" actually applies to Whois' existing customers who have NEWLY signed up after Oct 07. Please follow the transfer process steps below:
  1. After you have input your Domain Name & Auth Code, then click "Transfer"
  2. Sign up a New Customer Account (after the transfer was successfully processed, this will be the new existing account that you login to manage your domain. Hence, the old member account will not longer be valid).
  3. After you have created the New Customer Account, the transfer request can then be processed.
    1. Go to www.whois.com
    2. Click on "Domains" panel from bottom left
    3. Click on "Transfer Domain" panel
    4. From here, input your Domain Name & Auth Code, then click "Transfer"
    5. Login in to your new existing account (you will login to this new account to manage your domain after the transfer was successfully done).
    6. After you have created the New Customer Account, the transfer request will proceed on.

Please note that the entire transfer process with typically take about 5 working days for it to take effect. It will involve a series of emails to you (owner of the Domain Name), the current (losing) registrar and the new (gaining) registrar.

Billing / Invoice

I have paid for my newly registered domain name and have a receipt from PayPal for it too. But my domain name is still not activated and I am getting notifications on my invoice being pending. What is the issue here?
Please be informed that the payment which has indeed been received, has yet to credit to us as it was pending for e-check clearance. This means that the funds are pending from your bank for approval and this will take a couple of days for clearance (eg. if you use a U.S. bank account, it can take up to four business days for the electronic funds transfer to complete and for the funds to become available to the recipient of your payment). This is also the reason for you getting reminder emails on your Pending Invoice.
I do not have a credit card to pay for the services I have purchased. Is there any other way for me to make payment?
What you can do is to pay by e-check through a Paypal account. Please be informed that the e-check clearance process will take couple of days (eg. if you use a U.S. bank account, it can take up to four business days for the electronic funds transfer to complete and for the funds to become available to the recipient of your payment).

To pay by e-check, please follow these steps:
  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Click the Send Money tab.
  3. Enter the required information.
  4. Click Continue.
  5. Click the More Funding Options link.
  6. Select the eCheck radio button.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Review the information and click Send Money to complete the transaction.

I have just registered my domain name but realize that I do not need it now, hence I want to cancel the domain and get a refund. Please advise me the procedure for this.
